Can you tell us about yourself and how you got started in photography?

I have always enjoyed photographs and photography, although it was only while I was studying fashion design (and failing quite spectacularly)
that it was suggested to me to change course and focus my energies on photography. Around the time there was a Helmut Newton exhibition at
the Barbican Gallery which bought the worlds of fashion and photography together and galvinised my choice.

What did you want to be when you were a child?

I spent a very happy childhood not really thinking about what I wanted to do, lived everyday as it came and had allot of adventures, for a short
while I wanted to race bikes, a bad accident put pay to that. I think somewhere in the back of my mind I knew I would end up doing something
creative, but really that was something to worry about once I had grown up!

Did you study fashion or photography in school and how did you learn the skills you have today?

Honestly, I learnt very little whist I was studying, I was lucky enough to have 2 very good tutors in that time who did teach mean how to look
and dissect an image, which has been of great value to me, but the reality is that I learnt more about being a photographer in the frst weeks of
assisting than I did during my years of study.

What does fashion mean to you?

It's forever changing!

Who are your favorite fashion artists at the moment and how did they infuence your work?

It's hard to have favorites as there are so many great people working in fashion today, I love any work that challenges perseptions of the norm,
be they beautiful or vulgar I think its the force that drives fashion, without change it fashion would cease to exist.

How would you describe your work to someone who has never seen it?

Colourful and full of energy

To what extend does fne art infuence your work ?

I think it depends greatly on the project – I will draw inspiration from all manner of things, art, photography, flm, music, books, nature, things
I see everyday – they can all be the starting point for great new ideas.
