What did you want to be when you were a child?
I wanted to become an astronomer when I was little from reading something about a black hole, and I thought it was the coolest thing ever (Still think it is)
Did you study at school for art and design and how did you learn the skills you have today?
I started taking art classes at a young age. Although they were very academic, they helped me to build the fundamental skills for my current work. Later on I attended Galsgow School of Art for a BFA degree and San Francisco Art Institute for a MFA degree. During these times my work has come a long way but I never gave up on the figurative subject.
Who are your favourite artists at the moment and how did they influence your work?
The main topic and reference of my current work is cult and horror cinema. I’ve been specifically looking into some of my favorite filmmakers such as David Lynch, Matthew Barney and Stanley Kubrick to study their cinematography and storytelling technique and how they could be applied in a non-time-based medium.
What’s your proudest achievement in your career?
Earlier this year 4 of my pieces were selected into one of the largest contemporary art exhibition in Europe NordArt 2016, after the show ends, the work will continue to exhibit again in Denmark next year.
